about
On December 17th 1999 Winnetka Records founder Mark Rolfe of Lorna accidentally nearly ruined a random stranger's Christmas by stealing their luggage. The following day he raced across New York City to put things right. Fifteen years later he released a song of apology on the album 'Christmas in Slab Square'. And then, exactly twenty one years on from that fateful day in 1999 twitchels released this timely interpretation of the modern Christmas classic 'Sally Crocker' as part of the inaugural Winnetka Christmas album release.
Unashamedly re-purposed for this non-festive album in a slightly remixed and remastered state.
lyrics
Sally, I'm sorry
Sally, I hope you can
Make it home for Christmas Day
Sally, I'm sorry
New York does something to me
At Christmas Time
The lights of Greenwich Village and those strange people
That never sleep
Made me lose my way
Sally, I'm sorry
I'll make my way right over
You'll be home for Christmas Day
